John B. Walsh at the Arnot Art Museum in Elmira, New York talking about my vessel “Hitch”, which is in his collection. “What is probably not obvious in the photo of The Hitch is that on the surface of the piece there is a lot of word play. There are a number of words on the surface in beige that have a syllable circled in blue. At another place on The Hitch is a different word, which includes the same syllable. That syllable is also circled. It becomes a puzzle to see how the same syllable is used different ways. The Hitch is both a puzzle and a beautiful work of art.” John B. Walsh
